Performance Notes

× Letters Aloud Real letters by real people, read by great actors. The formula is simple. Each show brings together letters to and from the famous, the infamous, and all us regular folk—making history come to life in surprising, inspiring, and hilarious ways.

Each show brings together letters from every era, curated to explore a central theme. As one fan said, “It’s like literary crack.” With live musical accompaniment and a dynamic slide show, a Letters Aloud evening is guaranteed to inspire!

Featured Lit Con Poet, Gary Copeland Lilley Gary Copeland Lilley's collection, The Bushman's Medicine Show, is a southern gothic testament delivered by an archetypical denizen of the modern south, a sort of Everyman from the Carolina low-country traversing the territories of family, the spirits, society, culture, and identity, while refusing to be eradicated. If there is some type of stigmata, a mark, some identifier of people who have transcended southern stigmas, then the personas, certainly the Bushman, surely wear such a mark.
