× My #MeToo coming to VCA The VCA gallery show for the month of October will provide a platform for artists’ response to sexual abuse and harassment. Throughout the month, events and forums will be offered to engage the community in authentic, safe, and respectful dialogue in order to explore our shared experiences and to learn how we can come together to create a new narrative. Written Word Encaustics

Saturday, Aug 18, 1-5 pm

Instructor: Deborah Kapoor

An excellent follow-up to either of the writing workshops offered in the my #MeToo series, this workshop will explore how to utilize text as an image source to create forms with words, and use words as a basis to provide content in encaustic works. Techniques to successfully embed text and basic encaustic techniques are covered. Open to all gender identities. Deborah Kapoor is a Seattle-based artist who creates haptic, mixed media paintings, prints and sculpture about the distilled poetry within cultural markers. She holds an MFA from the University of Delaware and her work is shown nationally and internationally.
