Writing Workshop: Making the Personal Public

Ages: 16-Adult

Saturday, July 7, 1-5 pm

Instructor: Laurel Saville

It's well known that writing about trauma can be very therapeutic. However the act of writing for the self is very different than the act of writing for an audience. In this workshop we will examine both the craft and the emotional territory involved in rendering difficult experiences in words intended to be read by others. A safe space for all gender identities to explore effective ways of making the personal public, whether you hope to share your work with family and friends or in the My #MeToo gallery show. Laurel Saville is an award-winning, best-selling author of a memoir, three novels, and many essays, short stories, feature articles, and design books.
